Now we aren’t talking about joining a group of elderly men and women and walking across the Lake District, but hiking boots were popping up on the catwalks and not always coordinated with the product you would think.

I guess the majority of you would be imagining lots of tweed if you were going with the vintage hiking look, whilst the rest have probably immediately pictured a big parka.

It wouldn’t be a massive surprise if we wake up to find blankets of snow in a few months time and we are all going to need some hard wearing footwear to get us through those winter days. Last year I was slipping all over the place in a pair of brogues because I hadn’t been able to find a decent pair of shoes to wear on those icy mornings, so I’m thankful that the catwalks have given me an answer.

The adventurer trend was on a few catwalks and that’s where you saw the big parkas and chunky knits like at Topman Design but check out the Canali picture to see an alternative way of wearing your new hiking boots.
