Selfridges Shoe Carnival

Roll up…roll up…step right up!! It’s the Selfridges shoe carnival for all you guys and girls.
The big top in this sense is the iconic flagship Selfridges building on Oxford St, which over the last year has seen the launch of the largest men’s and women’s shoe menageries in the world, and now they are putting on a carnival bonanza for you to enjoy over the next two months.
You can imagine Mr Selfridge would have opening his doors with elephants, acrobats and fire breathers. Or maybe I’ve just been watching too much tv lately.
But unfortunately here will be no bearded ladies or clowns on show. Or should I say none provided by Selfridges, as we can’t vouch for the audience.
There will be a host of events being held throughout the next couple of months to showcase the fantastic shoes on offer. This extravaganza will give you the audience, the chance to participate to make sure the shoes you buy from the store will be original and a complete one-off.
We have listed the menswear events for you to write in your gentleman’s diary so you won’t miss a thing.
Stemar will be providing a master craftsman to demonstrate the old-age techniques of hand made shoes.
Harrys of London, Thurs 7th March – Sun 10th March
Introducing their new AW13 range, Harrys of London will guide you through creating your own custom colour finish on a pair of lace-ups. This workshop will also enable you to have your own embossed monogram.
Oliver Sweeney, Mon 11th March – Sun 17th March
The Oliver Sweeney Tattoo Studio comes to Selfridges. You may have seen this pop-up shop around London over the past year it’s where a tattoo artist will give you a unique design for your shoes using a real tattoo gun. One of the best ones I have seen was for a gentleman’s wedding; he had the date of the wedding tattooed on his shoes.
Cheaney, Thurs 21st March – Sun 24th March
The Cheaney cobbler will walk you through creating your very own luxury made-to-measure shoes
Harrys of London, Weds 27th March – Sun 31st March
